WCW Monday Nitro #10

     







Jim Ross: "Hello wrestling fans, and welcome to this weeks edition of WCW Nitro! I'm your host....."


Michael Hayes: "I AM.....Your host, "Purely Sexy" Michael Hayes!"

Jim Ross: "Gee, Michael.....nice of you to join us this week, you being the host and all."

Michael Hayes: "I hated leaving the job with you last week, but we had Freebird business to take care of. And before we get started, let me say one thing.....and I want Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkle to listen up real close..... me and my Brother, Bam Bam, have heard all the smack you two are talking. You boys need to be real careful.....or else The Freebirds might have to come up to Chicago and give you a lesson on what Badstreet USA is all about!"

Jim Ross: "I for one, wouldnt mind seeing that. But right now fans, it's time to get you up to the ring for our opening contest."



Sting & The Ultimate Warrior vs Bill Irwin & Scott Irwin

Warrior sprints to the ring and takes out both Irwins with numerous clotheslines as Sting makes his way into the ring he hits Scott with a Stinger Splash. Warrior then hits his splash to get the victory! As the replay is shown, Sting takes the housemic......





  Sting: "I wanna take you back a couple of weeks.....me and Warrior here was supposed to be in the tag team guantlet match to crown the WCW Tag champions. But while we was warming up, somebody turned out the lights and laid us out! And even more surprisingly is that nobody wants to talk about what's going on around here! So we are out here to get to the bottom of things. And we are gonna start by calling out the champs....Sid and Luger!"    


This brings out the WCW tag champs!




 Lex Luger: "Stinger..... what's the deal man? Surely you dont think we had anything to do with what happened to you guys?"        

 Sting: "Well it certainly benefited you now didnt it? We get taken out....and you guys cruise right into those tag team titles!"      

 Sid Vicious: "IT WOULDNT OF MATTERED EITHER WAY!! WE WOULD HAVE BEATEN YOU REGARDLESS!"          

 Ultimate Warrior: "MY ULTIMATE SENSES TELL ME THAT THERE IS MORE HERE THAN MEETS THE EYE! BUT IF YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT US......THERES ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT!!!"          

Lex Luger: "Stinger.....we have known each other a long time! It was you who went your own way and decided to team with Warrior. So I did what I had to do..... and me and Sid are now the WCW tag champions. That's our focus! But man to man....I'm telling you, that we had nothing to do with any attack on you and Warrior!"        

Sting: "Package..... we been friends as far as I van remember. But if your giving me your word......I believe you! But if I find out different......things are gonna get real narly..... real quick!"



***COMMERCIAL BREAK***




As we come back from break, we see a limo pulling into the venue, backstage. The limo parks and the doors open and we see the IWA World champion, Hulk Hogan get out and he has Ricky Steamboat and Bob Backlund with him.




Gene Okerlund: "OHHHH MY!!! What have we here? Hulk Hogan..... as far as I knew you arent scheduled in tonights show?"

Hulk Hogan: "LEMME TELL YA SOMETHING MEAN GENE..... THE HULKSTER IS HERE FOR ONE REASON BROTHA!! ME..... THE DRAGON.... AND BIG BAD BOB HERE..... WE WANT THE HORSEMEN AFTER WHAT THEY DID TO US LAST WEEK ON OUR TURF DUDE!"

Gene Okerlund: "Wrestling fans, we will keep you updated as this situation transpires throughout the evening. But right now, let's get you back to the ring!"




Match Two: Mickie James vs Raquel Gonzalez w/Lacey Evan's (If Mickie wins, she gets a title shot against Lacey Evans)

Lacey plays mind games with Mickie at ringside to start. Then Mickie turns her attention to the Beast known as Raquel...... The brawled at the start, and the fight quickly spilled outside. The brawling continued as Mickie had Gonzalez trapped in the ropes. Mickie with a draping and twisting neckbreaker on Gonzalez. Mickie followed that with a spear on the apron. Gonzalez was reeling, but she still kicked out at two. They traded strikes. A powerbomb into a hotshot that cut off Mickie, but Mickie also kicked out at two. They traded more strikes amd near falls. James countered Gonzalez when Gonzalez went for her finisher. Mickie then delivered a running knee strike, and a suplex for another two count. As Raquel rises to her feet, Mickie comes in for the Mickie-DT but Lacey jumps up on the apron and hits Mickie with the Womens Right! The ref calls for the bell disqualifying Raquel. Evan's takes her hanky and fans herself as Gonzalez looks on at Evan's, not real happy with what just transpired.





Gene Okerlund: "While Lacey Evan's may be happy with getting one up on Mickie James there, what she may be failing to realize is what the victory, Mickie James is now guaranteed a title match against Lacey in the future! Changing gears, it was announced this past week that my guest at this time, the IWA X Division champion, MJF, will defend that very title against Daniel Bryan, Brad Armstrong and James Gibson at the one year Anniversary show in June. Bobby Heenan, that cant set well with you?"




Bobby Heenan: "Of course it doesnt sit well.....what kind of question is that? This man hasn't been champion but a month and the IWA is already trying to stack the deck against him! You dont see Hogan having to face three other men!"




MJF: "Gene Okerlund, a redneck, a cripple, and yesterdays news, walk into the one year anniversary show.... sounds like an opening to a good joke doesnt it? But it's not, let me take the time to remind everyone just who's in this match. First we have a redneck midget in James Gibson, who should be at the county fair rather than in this match competing. Then we have the cripple.... Brad Armstrong! Let's face facts, Brad..... you can't beat me with four arms, let alone one! Then theres yesterday's news..... Daniel Bryan! Ya know, the little engine that could? My name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman. And at the Anniversary show, I'm walking out the same way I walk in..... with this IWA X Division title around my waist. Not because one is a redneck drunk. Not because one is a cripple. And certainly not because one is yesterday's news. It's because I'm MJF! And I'm better than you..... and you know it!"

Match Three: Rey Fenix vs "Freebird" Cameron Grimes

Fenix went up top and hit a huge senton atomico for a near fall right off the bat. Fenix sent Grimes to the floor and set up for a dive. He then held himself in the ropes when Grimes went to duck out of the way. They went at it in the ring and Fenix went for a springboard, but Grimes caught him. Fenix got out of Grimes grasp and hit a rolling frog splash. Fenix went up top a short time later, but Grimes shoved the ref into the ropes to crotch him. Grimes measured Fenix and hit a PK from the apron to the floor. Grimes went to work on Fenix and the fans booed. Grimes whipped Fenix hard into the corner a short time later and made the cover for a 2 count. Grimes hit a flapjack a short time later that sent Fenix crashing throat first into the top rope. He made the cover for a two count. Grimes went after Fenix’s mask then teased tossing Fenix into the crowd from the outside, but instead he tossed him back into the ring. Both men traded chops, but Grimes ended up raking Fenix’s eyes. Fenix fired back and went on the attack. He charged at Grimes, but Grimes pulled the ropes down on him and he went to the floor. Fenix ended up charging at Grimes as he climbed up top a short time later and he hit a one man Spanish Fly off the top and both men were down!! Fenix made the cover, 1.....2......but only got a two count. Fenix went for a springboard, but Grimes got his knees up. Grimes made the cover, 1.....2......NO!!!. Fenix tried to fire back with some hard strikes, but Grimes fired back. Grimes hit a pump kick, but Fenix bounced back through the ropes and hit one of his own. Fenix went to spring off the ropes, but Grimes caught him with his spinning powerslam then hit his double stomp to Fenix chest to get the victory!




Michael Hayes: "DID YOU SEE THAT JIM ROSS? WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT RIGHT THERE IS THE MAN WHO IS GOING TO DEFEAT STEVE AUSTIN AND TAKE THAT WCW TITLE TO THE MOON!"




****COMMERCIAL BREAK***



Gene Okerlund: "Welcome back wrestling fans. You seen earlier tonight that the IWA World champion, Hulk Hogan and crew are in the house, and they are looking for these men..... the Horsemen!"




Ric Flair: "Mean Gene.... just like I told you last week..... the Horsemen had nothing to do with whatever happened that night in Chicago! But we do have some news to...."


Flair is interrupted by the appearance of Hogan, Steamboat, and Backlund!


Hulk Hogan: "Save your news Flair!! Let's get right to it.... we all know that you put Perry Saturn on the shelf by breaking his leg Brotha! Just like at Baseballs and Bodyslams you tried breaking mine! Then just days later you guys attacked us at the Windy City TV tapings! We want a match against you guys!!"


Ric Flair: "Isnt this to be expected? Instead of putting that IWA World title on the line against me, you would rather be in a tag match! You keep trying to duck me Hogan, but sooner or later, that titles coming home to The Nature Boy! And I dont mean that generic version in Oklahoma! But as far as wanting a match against us.....dont you think the odds are in our favor. I mean theres only three of you!"

Hulk Hogan: "And theres three of us! What are you getting at Flair?"

Arn Anderson: "Its real simple Hogan! If you would close your trap and open your ears, the answer is right in front of you. What hes trying to say, if it's a match against the Horsemen you want.... then your going to get all four of us!"

Hulk Hogan: "Four of you?? Alright then....who's the fourth dude?"

Ric Flair: "Hogan... once again, your over your head! You wanna know who the 4th Horsemen is? Sign the contract..... and then and only then we will let ya in on who it is! WOOOOO!!!"



***COMMERCIAL BREAK***



As we come back from break we see the closing moments of the tag match between Asuka & Kari Sane against Tessa Blanchard and Charlotte at Evolve.....


BRITT BAKER shows up out of nowhere and ruins a great match by attacking KAIRI SANE!!!!  She locks on Lockjaw on the floor!  SANE is taken out and ASUKA is all alone against both TESSA and CHARLOTTE!  ASUKA fires up and takes them both out, but TESSA hits the Magnum followed by a Natural Selection from CHARLOTTE!  TESSA hits the Buzzsaw DDT and pins the world champion!!!! …. CHARLOTTE and TESSA advance!



Gene Okerlund: "There you seen the footage fans....my guest at this time, Britt Baker, clearly costing Asuka and Kari Sane the Evolve women tag titles. Britt Baker some might say that your obsession with Asuka is getting out of hand. The question....is why Kari Sane?"




Britt Baker: "Its real simple.... I wanted Asuka to feel pain! Just like the pain she put me through by kicking my teeth out. When she did that, she made things personal. So I went and inflicted as much pain as I could on the one person Asuka cares about.... and that's Kari Sane! But the thing about pain is.... you can let it hurt you.... or change you! See, Asuka has created a monster and she doesnt even realize it. That's why I'm the #1 contender to her title. That's why I took out Kari Sane. And isnt it poetic that the same pain Askua put me through by me wanting to quit.... will all come full circle at the one year Anniversary show.... where I will put Askua in the Lockjaw, and she will say I Quit and then hand that IWA Womens world title to me! Yea Gene.... i say that's gonna be pretty freakin poetic!"




Main Event: Matt Riddle & Jeff Cobb vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard

Tully and Riddle start it off before Arn tags in to meet Cobb, with Anderson trying to lure the young hothead into the wrong corner, but Cobb with Riddle yelling from behind, won’t fall for it.

When Blanchard tags in after Anderson is stunned by a flying crossbody, he tries the same thing Arn did, to lure Cobb into the corner. But Cobb plays it cool again until Blanchard spits at him, and winds up in the wrong corner, where he fights off both Horsemen with kicks, punches, back elbows, spinning his way out. Anderson comes in to try and aid Blanchard’s flailing, but Riddle cuts him off, leaving Tully alone to get press slammed by Cobb.

Cobb misses a Splash on Tully, which finally turns the tide, as Arn is tagged in to do the Anderson special, work on Cobb and wear him the hell out, quickly back to Tully who does the same, with their work focused on Cobbs midsection, that he hurt on the missed Splash. When Cobb is thrown over the top to the concrete floor, Riddle complains to the ref that they threw him over the top, which allows the Horsemen to double team Cobb. Riddle cant help himself and pushes the ref aside and a pier six breaks out. Arn hits a spinebuster on Riddle as Ric Flair makes his way to ringside and slides a chair to Blanchard. Tully goes to town on Riddle and Cobb with the chair. Tully puts Riddles ankle in the chair. Flair is climbing to the top turnbuckle......they want to break Riddles leg like they did Saturns!!! But before Flair can jump off, Higan, Steamboat, and Backlund storm the ring, chasing the Horsemen away as the show fades to black
