RISE #5 - ‘Battle of Los Angeles 2020’

EARLIER TODAY: Cameras follow Ronda Rousey as she arrives at the building in a limousine.  Rousey steps out and heads straight into the Staples Center and storms into the women’s locker room

Rousey calls all of them out and tells all of them they are welcome for being on the big stage because its her name that got them there .... She wants to hear all the shit talking now that she’s here face to face and they can’t hide behind social media .... Becky Lynch gives zero fucks and steps right up to Rousey .... Becky doesn’t back down .... Yeah she said it, so what? .... Rousey doesn't deserve to be the main event .... Rousey tells Becky to get back to her when she wins an olympic medal.  Get back to her when she puts something on the map like she did with MMA.  Outside of wrestling, who in the world knows who Becky Lynch is? .... Becky smiles .... She will be rooting for Rousey tonight because Becky is going to win BOLA.  And then she will show Ronda Rousey just who Becky Lynch is ....






We go live to Tom Phillips and Cindy Rogers from the Staples Center .... They put over that this is the biggest show of the year for RISE as this years Battle of LA will crown the first RISE Phoenix champion ....





Issues have come up between these two in recent weeks as Lacey first tried to help Becky out against Valkyrie, but when Becky punched her in the face Lacey returned the favor and laid out Becky with the Woman’s Right .... there is lots of aggression early on, and we settle down to some wrestling .... Becky targets the arm of Lacey, trying to negate the Woman’s Right .... Lacey hits it anyway, but not with as much power as the arm is injured .... this leads to Becky catching Lacey in the Disarm-HER and Lacey taps out ....

POST MATCH: Becky offers a handshake to Lacey and she takes it ...




These two hit hard .... Tessa goes the distance without the help of Banks and Bayley, and gets the win after hitting Magnum on Mia for the 3 count ....

POST MATCH: Banks and Bayley come out at the top of the ramp and raise Tessa’s hand .... Banks’ music hits and she heads to the ring for the next match ....


IN THE BACK -

We cut to the back as Ronda Rousey is with Cindy Rogers.  She asks Rousey for her comments on facing Asuka tonight ...

ROUSEY -  ‘I've said it a million times, but it bears repeating.  The reason that those bitches in the locker room are in this building tonight and the reason RISE is even running in the Staples Center is because of me.  Everyone wants to talk that shit on social media but when I walked into that locker room earlier you could hear a pin drop.  As far as Asuka goes, she might be the closest thing to a legit fighter that this company has, but that's not saying much.  You see, these companies pick their favorites, then they try to tell you and everyone else that they are YOUR favorites too .... Then they shove them down your throat and say these women are ‘battle tested’ against the best, the most ruthless and Savage and vicious .... but we know that can’t be true because I just got here.  And you see what happened, before the ink was dry on that 7 figure deal I am already in the main event of RISE's marquee show, fighting for the world title.  And I've got all the firepower I need up here (points to her brain) and right here (points to her fist) to sink anybody’s ship on my worst day!  Tonight, Asuka is just the unfortunate person that the IWA has positioned in my way ....'





Banks works the leg of Storm for most of the match .... Bayley is at ringside, and she gets in on the action too .... Toni’s knee is destroyed, but she overcomes Bayleys interference to win the match after reversing the Banks Statement into a cradle for the 3 count ....






This is a showcase match for Jinny as she looks really good in controlling most of the match with Sane .... Sane rallies, hitting the sliding forearm in the corner .... Jinny blocks the first Insane Elbow attempt and hits a superplex and both women are down .... Jinny resorts to trying to use her Gucci bag that she KO’d AJ with last week, but AJ runs out and grabs the bag out of her hand .... this allows Sane to score with the spinning back-fist and then she heads up top and hits the Insane Elbow for the win ....



‘Your daily dose of Protein’ Reika Saiki successfully debuts, pinning Santana after a stiff looking Shining Wizard ....











This is the most anticipated match of the entire tournament between arguably the 2 biggest stars in RISE .... The battle goes back and forth with Becky really working the arm of Tessa .... The end breaks down, with both ladies brawling on the floor .... Valkyrie once again gets involved in the action .... Becky takes out Banks, but this allows Bayley to sneak in and hit the Bayley 2 Belly as Becky has Tessa tapping out in the disarm-HER!  Bayley slides out, and Tessa recovers to hit the Buzzsaw DDT and pin Becky!!!!  Tessa advances to the finals!





Storm’s knee is heavily taped from the attack from Valkyrie, and she tries to use her size to slow Sane down .... Sane fires back with strikes and hits a missile dropkick .... Sane works a single-leg crab on the injured knee but Toni manages to make it to the ropes  .... Storm cuts off the sliding lariat and hits a German dripping Sane on her head .... Sane counters the running hip attack with a spear .... Sane up top but Toni cuts her off and hits a Muscle Buster .... 2 count!!!!  Toni can’t believe it!  Toni up top, but Sane is up and cuts her off .... Sane goes for a super-plex, but Toni blocks it and hits a shoot headbutt that rocks Sane .... Toni powers her up into the Eye of the Storm (Tiger Driver) from the 2nd rope!!!!  1 ... 2 ... 3!  Toni Storm is in the finals!!!!

POST MATCH: Toni is hurt, and she’s holding her knee .... Trainers check on her and Sane recovers and helps Toni up .... they hug ....



With Toni hurt, we get a standby match featuring some of the better un-signed talent in the IWA ....


Rose dominates with her power because, she’s a dude after all .... The other girls team up and dispatch her and Big Swole bows up to Nikki and Rayne .... They double team her and beat her down .... In the middle of the match, THE LIGHTS GO OUT!  When they come back on, standing in the ring is ...



... JESSICKA HAVOK!

Havok attacks everyone!  She starts rag-dolling everyone in the match, and she takes out Rayne with a choke slam .... Swole gets tossed, but Nyla Rose is back in the ring and she gets nose to nose with Havok!  Havok and Rose start throwing bombs on each other, but Havok gets the better of the exchange and takes Rose out with a spear .... Goozle to Rose, but then she scoops her/him up and drills her with an air raid crash!  Havok stands tall over the fallen bodies of the other females and laughs maniacally ....






Tessa and Valkyrie come out and Tessa says she’s tired of waiting .... Toni Storm can’t continue so let’s just get this over with and Eric Bischoff needs to come out and hand over the Phoenix title to her .... Bischoff comes out, and he has the title in his hand, but before he can talk he is cut off by Toni Storms music!  Toni is here and she’s going to fight!  

Toni is limping bad and selling the injuries at the hands of Valkyrie .... Tessa attacks the knee immediately and dominates, and the ref is constantly asking Toni if she wants to stop the match .... Tessa locks a figure four on Toni and the ref is gonna stop the match but Toni  grabs her by the shirt and yells at her NOT to stop it .... Toni fires up and makes the ropes without giving up .... Tessa goes back after her but Toni catches her with a shoot headbutt and both ladies are down!  Toni has busted herself open hardway with the move .... Toni is working on one leg, but the playing field is leveled a bit more now and Toni battles back with strikes .... Toni tries Eye of the Storm but can’t hit it due to the injured leg!  Tessa hits the Buzzsaw out of nowhere!  1 ... 2 ... Noooo!  Toni kicks out!!!!  The crowd starts buzzing as Becky Lynch walks out of the back with a chair!  She lays out Banks and Bayley with chair shots at ringside!  Tessa goes after Becky, but this allows Storm to hit a Superkick!  Toni fires up, ignores the injured knee and hits the Strong Zero Piledriver and pins Tessa for the 1 ... 2 ... 3 to win the title!!!! ....




Toni celebrates while Banks and Bayley try to help Tessa out of the ring .... Becky stands at the top of the ramp and talks shit to Valkyrie failing to win the belt after screwing her earlier ....

This has a big fight feel to it .... Rousey is in her home town, but the people boo the shit out of her .... they start it off in MMA style with circling and strikes, and Rousey takes Asuka to the mat .... Asuka avoids the armbar by getting to the ropes, and she knocks Rousey outside with the running hip attack .... Rousey back in and unleashes strikes on Asuka, but Asuka rallies with kicks .... The turning point in the match is where Rousey misses a punch and hits the ring post, and Asuka works the arm .... Asuka tries the armbar now, but Rousey avoids it and transitions into some ground and pound .... Asuka battles back with a roundhouse and then a sliding knee gets a 2 .... both ladies sell that they are really exhausted from the intensity of the fight .... Asuka goes for the Asuka Lock but Rousey counters and hits Pipers Pit for a 2 count .... Rousey goes to the 2nd rope, but Asuka stops her with a kick and then hits a super-plex!  Both ladies are down!  The crowd is buzzing as someone is coming down the ramp ....


It’s CHARLOTTE FLAIR!!!!  She has a kendo stick and attacks Rousey!!!!

Charlotte beats the fuck out of Rousey with the kendo stick, and she goes outside and grabs a chair and smashes Rousey across the back .... She puts Rousey’s head inside the chair, calling back to the spot where Rousey injured Charlotte using the same spot almost a year ago!  CHARLOTTE STOMPS THE CHAIR WITH ROUSEY’S HEAD INSIDE!!!!

Trainers hit the ring and immediately tend to Rousey, who has never been put down like this in her wrestling career .... Charlotte stands over her, a look of pure hatred in her eyes ...
