And, Mauro, Kurt Angle may not stand here with the world title tonight, but he was hands-down the MVP of the 2-Day tournament, turning in 5 STAR performances against Shelton Benjamin, AJ Styles and Adam Cole before losing to Hulk Hogan in the tournament finals ....The show opens up with Shane McMahon coming out to the ring and he has the Beyond Heavyweight title over his shoulder .... Shane says next week Beyond will crown its very first champion in ‘THE MATCH BEYOND’ .... He explains the rules, and it’s basically structured like a Royal Rumble but the eliminations are determined by pinfalls and submissions .... Shane says ‘The Match Beyond’ will become a regular event in Beyond ....

You can come out here and have your little cute names for your matches, but this should go no further than right here because I deserve to be handed that championship because I am the best thing you have going and I have put this company on the map! Angle comes out to a monster reaction as we take a look at Angle’s performance in the IWA world title tournament, where he made it to the finals .... Miz says he’s here to ask the tough questions because he and Morrison are professionals .... Miz asks Angle for his thoughts on the last 2 weeks, and Angle puts over Hulk Hogan for winning the IWA world title .... Angle says now he’s focusing on the Beyond title and the ‘Match Beyond’ next week ....
The segment is interrupted by the arrival of Nikita & Ivan Koloff .... Ivan says people like Angle are what’s wrong with America .... Angle win NOTHING and these people celebrate him! They cheer for him! America is all about participation trophies .... but in Russia we WIN! Angle failed at Parade of Champions just like America fails ....
Angle is tired of their shit and takes off his medals .... he is tired of the Russians dogging America and it’s people .... He says he is a proud American and he gives them the ‘America, love it or leave it!’ line .... Angle with a right hands to Nikita! Ivan comes in, but Angle fights him off and hits the Olympic Slam! Down come the straps!!!! Ankle Lock to Ivan but Nikita breaks it up with a Russian Sickle to the back of Angles head!!!! Angle hits the mat like a ton of bricks and is holding his neck! Nikita puts a boot on the back of Kurt’s neck, and Ivan reaches down and picks up the Olympic medals and hands them to Nikita, who holds them up triumphantly .... Ivan & Nikita leave with the medals ....

Banks & Bayley give her a big hug and act all excited, but Becky doesn’t act like she’s on board .... Banks says that they are glad to have Becky as part of the winning team and together they will dominate women’s wrestling in the IWA .... Becky starts to say something but Tessa cuts her off .... Tessa talks about how she has been disrespected because she wasn’t allowed to be in the IWA women’s title tournament .... She says that it’s a foregone conclusion that she will take the belt from Asuka .... this time Becky cuts Tessa off .... ‘Are you bloody finished?’
Next the music of Lacey Evans hits!!!! .... Lacey gets a big pop because that’s how you’re supposed to react to a hot, strong woman that’s a supermom and former marine .... She tells Becky that if she’s with them then she has a problem with her because she’s just another nasty .... she showed Tessa last week that she has a right to defend herself, a woman’s right .... Just ask her how that black eye feels .... Becky has had enough and she gets pissed that every time she tries to talk someone interrupts her .... she says she didn’t have a problem with Lacey until she interrupted her, but Becky came here tonight to fight, not talk .... so if Lacey wants to fight then she will fight her right now and slap the lips off her ....

BACKSTAGE - Cameras show Nick Aldis leaving the building carrying his suitcase .... he’s still in his wrestling gear ....Up next, Chris Jericho comes out for his match with Daniel Bryan, but he’s not dressed to wrestle .... Jericho says that he has changed his mind and he’s not going to fight Bryan tonight .... Jericho says he is preparing for The Match Beyond next week, and he isn’t going to waste his time fighting Bryan when nothing is at stake .... Bryan is not on his level so instead Jericho has found a replacement opponent .... he brings out a face from Bryan’s past, HIDEO ITAMI!

Itami hangs Bryan in the ropes and hits a knee drop off the middle ropes to the neck .... Bryan battles back with a tiger suplex but Itami gets to the ropes as Bryan tries Cattle Mutilation .... Bryan gives Itami the face wash and taunts Jericho, who is at ringside .... Itami battles back with some palm strikes before eating a big dropkick ....
Itami hits a release fisherman's suplex, then the mafia kick in the corner .... Itami off the top but Bryan catches him and hits the Danielson Special (Tiger driver into cross-armbreaker) .... Itami has to get to the ropes again .... Bryan hits a running high knee off the apron to the floor, then another suicide dive driving Itami into the apron .... Back in the ring Bryan misses the top rope headbutt and both men are down .... Both men rise, and go back and forth with intense forearm strikes .... Itami scores with the Falcon Arrow from the top rope for 2! Itami locks on a modified Rings of Saturn but Bryan gets to the rope .... Itami with the shoot kicks, and mocks Bryan’s ‘YES’ chant, which causes the crowd to chant ‘NO!’ Bryan ducks the big roundhouse and hits Itami with the Dragon Suplex, followed by a half Nelson suplex! Bryan traps the arms and rains down the elbow strikes, but Itami battles out and goes for the GTS .... Bryan reverses in mid-move into a head scissors and transitions into the triangle choke! BRYAN RAINS DOWN ELBOWS ON ITAMI’S HEAD WHILE HES TRAPPED!!!! The ref steps in and waves it off!!!!
POST MATCH: Jericho is disgusted at ringside and just throws up his hands and walks out .... Itami and Bryan are face to face in the ring, and Itami shows Bryan respect and bows to him .... Bryan returns the favor and they shake hands .... Bryan then leads the crowd in the ‘YES!’ chant ....
They are interrupted as we get the sound of static followed by this image on the big screen ....
We then hear ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Paul ... Heyman. And I am the advocate for the reigning, defending, REAL heavyweight champion of the world! C ... M ... Punk! And set your reminders because I am pleased to inform you that next week, at THE MATCH BEYOND, the real world champion will be on hand ... Yes! That’s right! Your world champion, the only man in this sport that can lay claim to being the Best ... in the World .... is coming to Beyond! And when he arrives, we will address the recent events in Chicago ....’We are running short on time, as The Rocks music hits and he comes out to the ring .... He told the world before the night was done he was gonna lay the smack down on Shawn Michaels so there ain’t no use waiting any long .... The Rock says ‘Just Bring It!’
Instead, Shane McMahon comes out! Shane tries to calm the ROCK down, saying that match isn’t happening tonight because he wants time to promote it ....
ROCK: ‘Shane McMahon, The Rock says Why don’t you just KNOW ... YOUR ROLE ... AND SHUT ... YOUR MOUTH!!!! Because the ROCK ain’t goin nowhere. You say you’re in charge here, like that is supposed to impress the ROCK. Well, the ROCK says ain’t nobody .... AND THE ROCK MEANS . . . NOBODY ... in charge of the Rock! The Rock is out here to lay the Smackdown on someone’s candy ass, so if it you aren’t going to give Shawn Michaels to the Rock, then it might as well be you!’Shane tries to appease the Rock and says he can’t have the match tonight, but he will book it in 2 weeks at their first big show: ‘INCEPTION’ .... Rock doesn’t appear too happy with the announcement and takes off his sunglasses and gets right in SHANE’s face.
ROCK: ‘THE ROCK vs. SHAWN MICHAELS ... at INCEPTION ... No problem ... THE ROCK says no problem. But what the ROCK told you was that THE ROCK wanted Shawn Michaels TONIGHT, not at INCEPTION!’ROCK grabs Shane and plants him with the Rock Bottom!!!! ROCK stands over Shane looking down on him, but out of the crowd behind him comes Shawn Michaels!!!! ROCK turns around, right into Sweet Chin Music!!!! Michaels stands over Rock for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, but he’s not done there .... he goes outside and grabs a chair and puts it on the Rocks ankle! He’s going to Pillman-ize Rocks ankle, but Shane manages to recover in time and stop Michaels from doing it .... HBK gives Shane and Rock the crotch chop and leaves the ring .... Rock is down, and Shane is feeling the effects of the Rock Bottom as the show comes to an end ....
