XWA Presents: Next Generation 11: Return of the Dragon

The show starts with footage from the Fire Match with Raven vs Ricky Steamboat from the XWA BURN show. We see Juice Robinson lending a hand for Steamboat.

Announcer Gus Johnson welcomes everyone to the show. He talks a little about what we just saw. Then informs us that tonight's Main Event is Will Ospreay vs Dragon Lee for the NextGen Title.


Match 1: Taya Valkyrie vs Meiko Satumura

Sekimoto is a no nonsense type of competitor. She isn't a fan of Taya and her antics. So in this match-up she looks to kick and chop just a little harder. Taya is tough but she is really getting beaten up a little. She is able to hit a Sling Blade on Meiko and goes on offense for a while. But Satumura comes back and is about to Put Taya away with a Brainbuster when Rush comes down to the ring and starts screaming at Meiko. She is confused and that allows Taya to roll her up in an inside cradle for the win.

Winner: Taya Valkyrie



After Taya and Rush ae high-fiving in the ring when Satumura spins Rush around and slaps his face. Rush looks like he's going to explode when Taya clobbers the Japanese rookie from behind. Taya holds her head up so Rush can now slap her but running in for the save is Daisuke Sekimoto. Rush and Taya take off as Sekimoto stares them down.

General Manager Jack Tunney addresses the crowd. He lets us know next show we will have another special guest. This time it will be none other than Tommy Dreamer as he faces Trevor Lee. Then he turns his attention to the Tag Team scene. he says Next Generation will crown tag team champions with a 4 team mini tournament. The teams are

Match 2: Willie Mack vs Rush

This is a spirited match. The fans really like Mack and why wouldn't they? He gives it his all in every match. He hits a Michinoku Driver on Rush for a near fall. Later Rush gives Willie Snake Eyes in the corner. Then goes for the Rush Driver. But Meiko Satumura is ringside and is distracting the ref as Rush nails his finisher. When Rush stands up he is hit with a Sekimoto Lariat! Sekimoto dives out the ring as Meiko jumps off the apron. The ref sees both men down. Willie is getting up first. he has Rush... Chocolate Thunder Bomb (Scoop lift sitout powerbomb)! 1.. 2.. 3!

Winner: Willie Mack

Match 3: Evan Karagias, Mikey Whipwreck & SD Jones vs The Future (Corbin, Lee & Dijak)

Raven's newest disciples are particularly vicious tonight. Beating the crap out of one guy then sending him o his corner so they can eat on another. In the end its SD Jones who is taken out by Orange Crush (Vertical suplex powerbomb) Courtesy of Trevor Lee.

Winners: The Future



After the match they dispense of the fallen team then strike the Raven pose in the ring.

Devin Taylor is in the back with Watanabe & Bushi. In broken english EVIL lets Devin know they will become Tag Team Champions and destroy Bailey and Finley Jr at the same time. Japan is a country of Warriors. And a team of Warriors will never lose to an Irishman and a Canadian.

Match 4: Rebel vs Kobra Moon vs Liv Morgan

Wild three Woman match. Kobra Moon is in control early but Rebel catches her with a one knee Codebreaker. She covers but Liv breaks it up. Liv hits a Sitout Jawbreaker on Rebel. She covers for 2. Liv goes for a Tornado DDT on Moon But it's countered into a Facebuster. But Rebel catches Kobra with the Sliced bread #2. She gets the 3 count.

Winner: Rebel

Main Event: Will Ospreay (c) vs Dragon Lee - NextGen Championship

Dragon Lee is still pissed about how Ospreay defeated him by countout during the tournament at the Great American Bash. Many fans agree as they chant "chickenshit" at Ospreay. Will seems to not be bothered by it. Match starts out clean as both men wrestle on the mat. Dragon Lee is well skilled in this area but Ospreay is slightly better and is able to get Lee's back and fire off some hard crossface blasts. Ospreay then does away with the scientific battle and starts kicking Dragon to the head and face.

Will hits the ropes and nails a running knee to the back of Dragon. Will then hits a Standing 450. 1.. 2.. No! Will goes up top for a Corkscrew Legdrop. But misses! Dragon hits the ropes... Shining Wizard! 1.. 2.. No! Dragon Lee begins to unleash a bevy of strikes to Ospreay in the corner. Will is dazed and Dragon nails a Bicycle Knee. He covers...


Kick out at 2 3/4 by Ospreay! Dragon goes up top but Will grabs the referee and shoves him into the ropes which causes Lee to lose his balance and crotch himself. Ospreay is playing like it was accidental. The ref considered DQing him but held off. Will does the Cheeky Nandos Kick (Superkick to opponent on the turnbuckle). Ospreay hits an Iconoclasm. He goes up... Corkscrew Shooting Star Press! 1.. 2.. 3!



Winner: Will Ospreay




Gus Johnson exclaims "This kid doesn't need an ATM because he is CASH MONEY!" Ospreay celebrates as Gus hype's the next show and then signs off.
