XWA Presents: Next Generation 8: Aftermath

Announcer Gus Johnson welcomes everyone to the show. He starts off by giving us a report on Richie Steamboat. He did undergo a procedure to repair the partially torn MCL. Then sends us to Dr Jack Shepherd for his report.



Shepherd: We were able to repair the damaged ligament. Everything looks strong but this is the 2nd major surgery on that knee. The strain that a joint takes in Professional Wrestling is unlike any other sport. Add to the fact it would be a constant target of other competitors and it makes it very hard to say if Richie will ever return to a ring again. In my professional opinion, I feel his career may be LOST.

Gus then sends us to vignettes wishing Richie well from the following.

Match 1: Rebel vs Liv Morgan

(Liv is out here with her Jer-Z top. Rebel extends her hand. Liv looks at her skeptically but gives her a quick pound and they are off. Rebel immediately connects on a dropkick. She whips Liv into the buckle then hits a running corner splash. She Goes for a Death Valley Driver but Morgan slips out and hits a sitout reverse DDT. She Covers for 2. She applies a modified Camel Clutch and yells out "Jersey is in the house!"

Rebel is able to get to a vertical position and back peddle to the corner ramming Liv spine first into the buckle. Rebel lands a few Forearm shots. Then She runs to the far corner and back for another corner splash but she runs into a running boot from Morgan! SlingBlade by Liv which she calls the Sling Blonde. Then readies herself... Shining Wizard connects! 1.. 2.. 3!

Winner: Liz Morgan



(After the match she says "Everyone bows down to the 201, son.")

General Manager Jack Tunney addresses the crowd. He tells us again about the Great American Bash show and reveals the Bay city Rollers will be performing. Some of the Younger fans think its a wheelchair Basketball team. He then announces there will be two World title matches. Awesome Kong vs Taya Valkyrie. reDRagon vs BMX. He also says there will be a match between David Finlay Jr & Speedball Mike Bailey vs EVIL Watanabe and Tetsuya Bushi. Then he tells us the names for the 8 man tournament.

Richie Steamboat was to be in it but now we will have a match for his spot between Trevor Lee and Dragon Azteca Jr tonight and in tonight's Main Event Juice Robinson faces Donovan Dijak for the last slot.

Match 2: BMX vs Los Ice Creams

The crowd get excited when they hear the sound of an Ice Cream truck. But are disappointed when the masked duo comes out. "We want Ice Cream" chants rig out. The crowd is havig a good time but BMX isnt amused, They take apart Los Ice Creams with a ferocity not seen from them before. They end it with their finisher, The X-Clamation Point (Brainbuster/Frog Splash combo).

Winners: BMX

Match 3: Taya Valkyrie vs Sammi Lane

Taya is a little more subdued than usual. but she is still too much for sammi. Taya catches her with a Missile Dropkick. Then wraps it up with the Call of the Valkyrie(Northern Lights Suplex into a Double foot stomp).

Winner: Taya Yalkyrie



(After the match fans are chanting "Kong is going to KIllll youuu", Taya has a worried look on her face then grabs the mic. She asks if they think she's scared. They all yell YES. Then Taya says no. The one who should be scared is Kong. She has no idea what she's getting into. She says Kong is a mindless beast. Taya is a perfection. Mind, Body & soul. No beast can stand up to that.)

Devin Taylor is in the back with Rush. She asks him if he has anything to say to his rival, Richie Steamboat. He replies that it should have been him in that match with Raven and that would have never happened to him. But enough about the poor unfortunate Mr steamboat. let's talk about the man who at the Great american Bash will become the first Next Generation Champion and that's him. He doesn't care who he has to go thru but when the smoke clears he will be the one left standing and the entire arena will feel the RUSH!

Match 4: Trevor Lee vs Dragon Azteca Jr

This is a fan favorite match as both men are going full speed. Azteca catches Lee with a headfirst slide ito a spear o the floor. Trevor hits a Quebrada for a near fall. Tilt-A-Whirl Side Slam by Azteca Jr. He goes for Green Destiny but Lee counters it into a faceplant. He pounces on Dragon and hits the Orange Crush (Vertical suplex powerbomb) 1.. 2.. 3!

Winner: Trevor Lee

We get a video package for EVIL Watanabe. It talks about how he was once a Greco-Roman trained Wrestler. But after a Trip to the dark Orient he studied in a secret Dojo which released his inner demon and now is truly EVIL.

Main Event: Donovan Dijak vs Juice Robinson

These 2 have been rivals in the past but as of late they have bonded after what Raven did to one of their own. They shake hands and get underway. Donovan is the bigger, stronger man and uses that early on. Juice who has been actively training in MMA styles lands some nice leg kicks. They don't seem like much now but they start to pile up and after a while we see Dijak being bothered by them.

Donovan lands a hard knee to the bread basket of Juice. He hits a Discus Front Kick that wipes Robinson out! 1.. 2..

No. Juice kicks out at 2. Fallaway Slam by Dijak. Then he motions for the Feast Your Eyes. He puts Juice on his shoulders. But then Juice locks on the Juice Maker! He has Donovan in the center of the ring. Gus Johnson is going crazy! He is frantically trying to get to the ropes but he can't. He has to tap!

Winner: Juice Robinson



(After the match Juice goes to shake Dijak's hand he gives a half-hearted shake. and leaves the ring. )


Gus Johnson puts over Juice being the last entrant for the tournament. Tells everyone they better be at the Great American Bash, the signs off.
