Show opens with a shot of the crowd inside Du Burns arena, on the shores of the inner harbor in Baltimore, Maryland .... We hear the voice of XWA announce team Tom Phillips and Renee Young, and they welcome the fans to this weeks show and they talk about what we are going to see tonight ....
Tonight begins the XWA cup, and it all leads up to the Elite 8 show in 3 weeks .... Tonight we will have 4 preliminary round matches, and we will also see the Ascension in action ....
XWA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND: 'The Project' Tomasso Ciampa -vs- Adam Rose
Ciampa has no patience for Rose's antics, and he attacks at the bell .... He pretty much squashes Rose, and the crowd LOVES it .... He finishes Rose off with 'project Ciampa' for the 3 count .... The announcers talk about how intense Ciampa is, and how he's going to be hard to beat in the tournament ...
XWA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND: Adrian Neville -vs- Ted Dibiase Jr. W/ DH Smith & Lacey Von Erich
Neville continues to show that he is worth all the hype .... His moves are amazing, just watch NXT .... He has to fight off interference from DH Smith, who gets sent to the back, and then Lacey Von Erich but he still manages to come out on top .... He pins Dibiase are hitting a breath-taking 'Red Arrow' from the top ....
Renee Young interviews Neville at ringside after the match .... Neville says that people don't give him a shot because of his size .... Well, he just proved everyone wrong and he's going to continue to prove people wrong until he becomes the XWA champion!
BACKSTAGE - Adam Cole is interviewed .... He says there are a lot of people that come out and try to adopt the monicker 'the future', but only one man that can actually back up that claim .... Not only is Adam Cole 'the future' of this business, he is also 'the now' .... Adam Cole is the best thing going today or any day, especially in XWA .... And he is going to prove that by winning the XWA cup .... And that's not just a claim or a guess, it's a 'spoiler' and it starts tonight ....
XWA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND: 'Mr. Wrestling' Kevin Steen -vs- 'The Hardcore Eco Warrior' CJ Parker
CJ Parker comes out with the Sandman's cane and a bottle of water .... He mocks the Sandman's entrance .... The crowd absolutely LOVES Steen .... When the match starts, Parker gets in a cheap shot while the ref is trying to get the cane away and he gets some offense on Steen .... The match is actually more competitive than you would think .... Steen unleashes the violence outside the ring, which the crowd loves .... Steen takes control of the match and doesn't look back, forcing Parker to submit to the Sharpshooter after a surprisingly long contest ....
Steen leaves the ring, but then comes back and gives Parker an F-Cinq (F5) just for fun ....
We get an 'INSIDE XWA' segment with correspondent Josh Matthews .... It breaks down the ongoing XWA cup which started tonight and culminates in 2 weeks in Charlotte, North Carolina at 'ELITE 8' .... Next week we will have the final preliminary matches ....
Also, XWA officials are working for a 'special guest' to appear at the ELITE 8 ....
XWA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND: Adam Cole -vs- Big E Langston
Langston uses his power to control the opening moments of the match .... Cole tries to counter-act by attacking the knee, and he manages to lock on a figure 4 around the ringpost .... Big E is hobbled, but explodes with a body avalanche .... He goes for the big splash but Cole moves and then hits a shining wizard ... Cole goes for the Florida Key, but Big E counters with a belly to belly .... He scoops Cole up for the big ending, but Cole grabs the top turnbuckle to block it .... Big E jerks him loose, but in doing so rips the padding off the top buckle! Cole slips off the back and shoves Big E face first into the unprotected buckle!!!! Big E slumps to his knees .... Cole blows the kiss of death .... SUPER KICK!!!! Cole hooks the leg and gets the 3 count on Big E to advance!
We get a promo from both Brent Albright and Silas Young regarding their matchup next week in the XWA cup .... Young calls Albright a 'pansie' and a 'pretender' .... He asks if Albright will want to shake his hand next week when he knocks him out of the XWA cup, because the title deserves to be held by a 'real man' .... Albright says Young disrespected him and next week he's gonna have his arm for a trophy .... He calls the XWA cup the 'Shooters Payne Killer' tour .... Next week Young will have 2 choices, 'Get out or tap out'
The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) -vs- The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & Devon)
This one is a war, and basically serves to establish the Ascension as a monster team .... The action goes back and forth and spills out of the ring numerous times .... DEVON .... GET THE TABLES!!!! The Dudley's bring their trademark tables into the ring, but Konnor ends up putting Bubba through a table with a flapjack .... With Bubba taken out, Devon falls prey to the 'Fall of Man' (charging European uppercut by Viktor + leg sweep by Konnor) for the 3 count!!!!
After the win, the Ascension is interrupted as out comes Kyle O'Reiley and Bobby Fish, ReDragon .... ReDragon runs down the Ascension, but Konnor & Viktor don't want to talk .... They want to fight .... ReDragon acts like they are going to come to the ring, but think better of it and leave .... Konnor & Viktor own the ring as the show ends ....
